Summary: Lucinda is an orphan. She’s the Cinderella type, only with her uncle and step-aunt. When her uncle dies and her step-aunt kicks her out, she meets Peter (a pickpocket), Beryl (a “witch” who needs help getting back her jewel), and Prince Gregor (who she may be falling for). In a series of unfortunate events, she needs to: find the jewel, get her house back, and win the guy. Can she have it all? Or was this fairy tale never meant to be?
What I Thought: This book was lots of fun. Lucinda was a fun character, I loved the pick pocketing, and the whole prince part. It was cool that Peter helped out, and I liked his character quite a bit. Grr…upon the head of the bad guy, and Lucinda’s aunt. I loved dog (the goat), that was a really cool part. The ending was great; I like fairy tales, retold and original. And it’s good that the author put in a happily ever after ending.
